Financial Aid Credit on Your Bill

Pell Grants
Actual credit will be applied after Student Financial Services has performed extensive eligibility verification required by federal regulations. You must be enrolled for at least four credit units to receive full Pell Grant credit.

Third Party / Outside Scholarships and Billable Agencies
University of Pennsylvania,
Student Financial Services
Attn: Outside Scholarships/Billable Agencies
140 Franklin Building - 3451 Walnut Street
Philadelphia, PA 19104-6270

Do Not send Third Party / Sponsored Scholarships to the P.O. Box address used for submitting personal payments.

Federal Stafford Loan
If your Financial Aid award includes a Federal Stafford Loan, but you have not yet filed a Master Promissory Note, you should do so as soon as possible to avoid losing Stafford Eligibility for this year.

Perkins, Health Profession, Nursing, Penn Guaranteed and Wharton Loans
Loan credit will be applied to your student account after SFS receives your signed promissory note.

CitiAssist Loans

Funds will be disbursed to your student account via electronic funds transfer each term as funds are received from Citibank.

Federal Work-Study Program
These funds are not applied to your student account. You will be paid weekly through the University's payroll system by the employing department based on the hours you work.

Temporary Credits
You are responsible for the full amount due on your bill. However, some sources of funds, such as Federal Stafford Loans and Penn CitiAssist Loans, are not available at the time of billing. As a convenience to you, temporary credits for these awards will be posted to your account. This allows you to pay the amount due net of your pending disbursements. These temporary credits will be removed on the date indicated on your statement, or earlier, as actual payments are received.

Important Note:
Check Penn Portal for the status of your loan application and disbursements as well as the status of your financial aid application. No action can be taken on your financial aid application until our office receives all required documents.
