A Penn education is worth the price…..let us help you afford it!

The cost of an undergraduate education today is a major investment for most families.  Our goal is to make a Penn education affordable to students from all family income levels. To this end, Penn employs these policies for U.S. citizens and permanent residents:

  • Need-Blind Admission
Applications for admission are reviewed without regard to whether the applicant is applying for financial aid.

  • Meets Full Need
Like other Ivy League universities, Penn does not offer aid based on academic or athletic merit. Aid is based solely on financial need, and Penn is committed to meeting 100% of a student’s determined need. Whether it is $5,000 or $50,000, Penn will find a source to cover it.

  • No Loans
Penn will not expect dependent students to borrow student loans to meet their academic year financial need.

The University of Pennsylvania’s need-blind policy ensures that no one is denied admission because he or she requires financial assistance.

In accordance with this policy, review of your admissions application is independent of review of your financial aid application. Penn is committed to meet 100 percent of your financial need, as determined by Student Financial Services.
